| Ma, what's the candle for? |
Nov. 1-- All Souls day. As far as I know, All Souls day is a day to honor the dead people. It is a day that we go to the cementery, pray, and light candles. While I was lighting a candle for my uncle, I heard Karty (an 8 year old cousin) ask her mom, "Ma, what's the candle for?'. I listened. Her mom then answered, "Nan kakan da ya usalen da di ay umey ka-heaven (They said that they use that to go to heaven)". Karty then laughed.
I then went back to what I was doing carrying that question. What is the significance of lighting a candle during All Souls day? I researched. Some people say that it is a ritual, a culture passed down by I don't know who. But I think it is done to show your respect to those who passed away. Well, whatever is it's importance, It's nice to have a holiday together with your families... even the dead ones. |

| Go! Compete and Socialize! |
On Sept 24, we went to Sabangan for the Division Step Competition. We went there by jeep. It was a fun ride.
Me, competing. huh... well I'm a bit nervous at first but... whew! I did what I got to do, tried my best, had confidence and voila! I was the first placer. It all happened so fast. But I wasn't just there to compete but to socialize to. We met some students from other districts. But then, I have to go home the next day because my dad was leaving for Hawaii and I have to say goodbye but before leaving he congratulated me (of course!) |

| Last Week's Phenomena |
Last week, we had our rehearsals for the Monday program. Everybody went bananas. The boys kept on playing and some of the girls aren't paying attention. It's like everybody's in a bad mood.
Cooperation... no, a physician is what we need.
We have to practice (we have to). 3 more days and it's our turn for the Monday program. We have to practice the songs: We are One and Shout to the Lord.

| Ambitions |
All my life I have been wondering what course I'm gonna take. I had the idea of being an architect because they say I'm good in drawing but then I found out that Math is their major subject. Then, I thought about being a nurse, a pediatrician specifically, but then found out that I have to deal with the memorizing of different medicines and had to deal with blood. Then I stumbled on thinking about being a cook. Yes, that's it. I wanted to be a cook. Taking less math. Memorizing recipes and the variety of food were going to cook/bake. Yeah, I'm going to take Culinary Arts.
I'd like to finish my studies, help my family, and marry.... someone. |

| Expectations |
As usual, I expected English to be fun ('cause it's my favorite subject besides Science). I thought the teacher speaks well and levels her words with our vocabulary. I'm glad she's open and kind and humorous.
For the other subjects.. well.. I found some of them complicated and quite hard. I was happy to have Biotech. On TLE, I looked forward on baking and eating delicious cakes, tarts, rolls... heheh.

| The "third" first day of school |
Well, I was very excited for the first day of school that i woke up at 5:00 that I don't usually do. It was thopught it was exciting to be in the third-year. I was excited to see my classmates and friends. I missed them so much. I was hoping for a new classmate, a new face to see inside the room.
At school, we got the news that we have a new classmate. EVerybody started to talk about him/her. It's good to have a new classmate(being) in this "crazy" family. But at the rest of the day, we received many asignments and projects already, but still, it's feels good to0 be back. |
